Exploding box that looks amazing

Pink, pink, pink.... That's the inspiration. I was at a halt thinking what design to use. I looked at the kind of card stock I had on hand and started making the base for a framed card. Well, it was done and happy with the start but looking at the space that my colleagues can use to sign in the card, there wasn't enough space. So back to the drawing board.
Now, that glimmering card stock will do, it's the exploding box for this card. Decision made but now what size should it be. With some deliberation do what will look great but not too big, I settled for a 4 x 4 x 4 inches cuboid. The fun started from here.
I have made a number of exploding boxes and the centre space has always been domed acetate for floral arrangement with a led candle inside it. This time I decided to to layer two boxes to make a cake feature and decorate it with punched petite petal flowers in vellum . Thre pieces of cut shapes crunched up in the middle then layered to get the pretty effect centred with painted half pearl. The bottom layer of the cake is wrappers with silver ribbon. Then the rest of the design was a matted of what messages can be put together to finish the card.  So here is the finished product. Hope you enjoy this magnificent card...

The inside full of surprise.

And putting these together to summarise.... Enjoy!

Monochromatic theme

Some days colour are just the order for the day. It can be multi colour theme but for today it is being monochromatic. Playing around with my new stamp sets, I thought simplicity of being monochromatic will show the dramatic finish I am after. This is what I ended up with

The expression of the bright colour is so inviting, the colour itself says it all. Hope you enjoy this inspiration.

Stress release

I was watching the semi finals game of the  Cricket  World Cup between NZ and South Africa. NZ started with a bang and after Cullin got out the pace changed. The game got exciting toward the last 8  overs..... Was so stressful watching the runs made. So what a better way to ease the stress by making a card with some of my new stamps and colours that arrived this morning.
I now have lots more to create new designs. So watch out for more samples.
But for now here is my stress release card.

Serenity in white vellum

I have always wanted to emboss on a white vellum. The challenge however has always been the occasion for which this finished product is most suitable for. It also has occurred to me that occasion for a reason to emboss a white vellum is just a weak justification for embossing white on a white vellum could be a dramatic effect for any project I make.
My inspiration for this project is the sad news of the lose of the mother of the field office staff member at our regional Union field office. Expressing sympathy and feel the emptiness experienced by others has clearly been expressed in this card by putting together a somewhat 3d bouquet. I am so happy with the outcome and will, certainly be making more embossing on a white vellum.
